Project Description

Run-on Sentences and Fragments

One of the first types of writing we learn is how to write a sentence. As our writing skills advance, we learn to write more complex sentences. Writing complex sentences can be tricky, and we can easily make errors. Two of the most common sentence errors are run-on sentences and sentence fragments. This video will help you understand how to avoid those sentence writing pitfalls.

Fragments and run-on sentences prevent clear presentation of ideas. It’s often easy to fix sentence fragments by adding the missing parts in order to create complete sentences. Run-on sentences can usually be corrected either by splitting the parts into separate sentences, or joining them with conjunctions and proper punctuation. Learning these methods of avoiding or recognizing/repairing fragments and run-on sentences is very important.
